You may have heard about the Tabata 20/10 program. Tabata 20/10s combine strength, cardio, agility, and core exercises. Each Tabata set only lasts about four minutes, but it’s likely to be the most challenging four minutes of your life! During a standard Tabata session, you’ll do 20 seconds of high-intensity exercise, followed by a 10 second break. After the quick break it’s right back into another intense 20 seconds. Each 20/10 is one round; we do eight rounds per set and eight sets of each exercise per session!
Our flagship HIIT program is our namesake HIT180 class. Like all HIIT programs, HIT180 is high intensity, but we focus on low impact exercises for lower injury risk. In place of flat or incline treadmills, which cause stress in the knees and ankles, we favor equipment like rowers and versa climbers. Studies show that low impact exercise puts less stress on your joints which greatly lowers your risk of injury. This reduces the impact on your knees and joints when compared to high impact activities like jogging or running. Our clients consistently get excellent results and the injury rate is down considerably compared to high-impact regimens. We have four stations: functional/dynamic workouts, upper body strength, lower body strength, and cardio. Furthermore, we mix it up everyday to avoid getting redundant or repetitive.
